Day 25 – Marjoram

Marjoram is closely related to Oregano and is most often thought of as an element of the kitchen above anything else. DoTERRA sources their Marjoram from Hungary and steam distilled from the flowers and leaves of the plant.

marjoramMarjoram as an essential oil is often used for sore muscles, strains, sprains, and back aches as well as other minor joint and muscle pain. It is wonderful for use in tension headaches, neck pain and soreness as well as respiratory and digestive issues. Marjoram is a mild muscle relaxant.

Marjoram can be added to a bit of juice, water or honey and be taken internally for stomach upset. It can also be applied need or with a carrier oil such as fractionated coconut oil, in a massage directly to sore muscles or over the sprained or injured area. It can also be rubbed on the chest and neck during a cold to experience relief from respiratory issues.
