Day 16 – Helichrysum

DōTERRA puts it best in describing the origin of this essential oil when they say:Helichrysum_bracteatum_2

“Helichrysum, a perennial plant in the daisy family, is one of the most sought-after essential oils. The oil is distilled from the blossom of the plant, and tends to be hard to find because Helichysum is almost exclusively wild-crafted due to the difficulty in maintaining active constituent levels in domestic strains. Helichysum italicum is the strain most commonly distilled for it’s essential oil because of the high concentration of therapeutic constituents as compared to other strains.”  (“Helichrysum”, 2008)

Helichrysum is best known for its regenerative effects as well as easing joint and muscle discomfort. This valuable essential oil would be amazing for those fine laugh lines. To make a rollerball of this amazing oil, simply add one drop of Helichrysum to one tablespoon of Fractionated Coconut Oil and apply carefully around your eyes and mouth.
